Who is responsible for your data

DM MEDIA GLOBAL SRL is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at contact@dmmediaglobal.ro or on +40 730 729 422, and the company's full identification details are in the Terms of Use.

We have not appointed a data protection officer, because we are not required to appoint one. Anything to do with this policy is handled at the email address above.

How your details reach us

This website is a set of fixed pages. There is nothing on it to fill in, no account to create and nothing to send from it, so the pages themselves take nothing from you and store nothing you type.

Personal data reaches DM MEDIA GLOBAL SRL only when you decide to write to contact@dmmediaglobal.ro or to call +40 730 729 422 — and then it is whatever you chose to put in that message or say on that call. Your email travels between your mail provider and ours in the ordinary way. Nothing on this website sends it for you — there is no form and no service on the page standing between you and that message.

What we collect, and why

Two kinds of data exist here, and they arrive in completely different ways.

The first is what you choose to give us when you write or call:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your phone number, if you give one;
  • a link to your work, if you give one;
  • the message itself, including any budget figure you choose to mention.

We use it for one purpose: to read your enquiry, answer it, and continue the conversation if there is one. We do not build profiles, we do not score you, and we do not use your details to market to you. You are not obliged to give us any of this — it is not a statutory or contractual requirement, and the only consequence of withholding it is that we cannot reply to you.

The second is technical connection data that your browser sends whenever it asks for a page — including your IP address, which page was requested, the time of the request and the browser and operating system you are using. The company that hosts this site records that in its server logs so the pages can be delivered and the site kept secure. We do not use it to identify you, we do not combine it with anything else, we do not profile you and build no audience lists from it; our host's dashboard shows us aggregate traffic counts.

This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics, does not embed fonts, scripts, maps or videos from other companies, and does not track you across sites. There is nothing to opt out of, which is why there is no consent banner.

The legal basis we rely on

For enquiries about working together, the basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. For any other correspondence, it is Article 6(1)(f): our legitimate interest in reading and answering messages sent to us, balanced against the fact that answering you is also the reason you wrote.

For the connection data in the server logs, the basis is Article 6(1)(f) as well: our legitimate interest in delivering this website reliably and protecting it from abuse. A page cannot be sent to you at all without processing the address it is being sent to, and we have no interest in that data beyond keeping the site up and secure.

How long we keep it

If an enquiry does not lead to work, we delete the message and your details no later than twelve months after the last exchange. If we do work together, we keep the correspondence for as long as the working relationship lasts, and afterwards only for as long as Romanian law requires us to keep records connected to a contract. You can ask us to delete something earlier and we will, unless the law requires us to keep that specific record.

The connection logs are held by the host rather than by us, for the short period that provider needs in order to run the service and investigate abuse, and are then discarded. We do not download them, copy them or keep an archive of them. The aggregate counts in the host's dashboard are the only form in which any of it reaches us.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data, do not share it for marketing, and do not add anyone to a mailing list.

Two kinds of company are technically involved. The company that hosts this website processes the connection data described above on our behalf, so that the pages can be delivered and the site kept secure. The provider that hosts our mailbox receives and stores the messages you send us, on servers inside the European Economic Area — that is the whole of their part in it, and we give them nothing about you beyond the message itself.

Our host, which serves this website, is a company established outside the European Economic Area and runs its infrastructure in many countries at once, so the connection data described above may be processed outside the EEA. Those transfers are made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and you can ask us for a copy at contact@dmmediaglobal.ro. The mailbox your message is then delivered to is hosted with a provider operating its datacentres inside the European Economic Area, so messages sent to us are received and stored within the EEA.

We disclose personal data to anyone else only where the law obliges us to.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access — ask whether we hold personal data about you and receive a copy.
  • Rectification — have anything inaccurate corrected or completed.
  • Erasure — have your data deleted where there is no longer a reason to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to stop using your data while a question about it is resolved.
  • Portability — receive the data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format, or have it sent to someone else where that is technically possible.

You have the right to object. Where we process your data on the basis of legitimate interest — the connection data in our host's logs, and correspondence that is not about working together — you may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, by writing to contact@dmmediaglobal.ro. If you object, we stop, unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms.

To exercise any of these, write to contact@dmmediaglobal.ro and say what you want. We will answer within one month. We do not charge for this, and we will not ask you for more identification than we need to be sure it is you.

If you are not satisfied

Tell us first — most things are quicker to fix directly. You also have the right to complain to the Romanian supervisory authority, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal, ANSPDCP), at dataprotection.ro.

Changes to this policy

If we change how any of this works, we change this page and update the date at the top. We do not keep a mailing list, so there is nowhere to notify you from — the date is the honest signal.
